AbstractThe United Nations Peacemaking Initiatives (UNPI) data compile information on the full range of instruments the UN employs to advance peace and stability. After briefly introducing the data, we will describe how they help us to identify different types of UN peacemaking instruments based on what they aim to achieve (tasks), when they are applied (trends) and to what conflicts (selection).
